Twiggy (adopted July 2008) and Cleo (nee Cupid - adopted Jan 2009)

How lovely to receive the following letter about Twiggy, one of our former 'temperamental' cats:

My wife and I have promised (a few times) that we will write in, sending some photos of Twiggy and Cleo (née Cupid) and so, some years later, we have!

Twiggy is, at least most of the time, a totally different cat! While he still has some of his, for wont of a better word, quirks, he is so much more social its almost bizarre. He defiantly craves attention (although isn’t always sure how to get it) and is known to bolt through to cat flap into the house when he sees we’re in. He can still be a little over-excitable when it comes to playing with him but he has even been known not to use his claws from time to time! He will, however, should you let your guard down, rip off your face and run away with it if you give him a chance!

Unlike most cats he loves the outdoors all the time and will happily mooch about outside in the snow, sleet and rain (but not the wind.... he’s scared of the wind).Cleo is as soppy as any well brought up domestic cat. She is born of the ilk that will happily collapse at your feet and roll about if she thinks she will get a few “aahs” for it and is often found waiting on the carpet just outside our bedroom in the morning, her high pitched squeaking let us know she’s there and requires human attention. In fact, just looking at her can start her off on a purring fit.  At night, when bored, she locates her favourite toy, carries it upstairs and pointedly drop them on the bed. Who’s idea it was to put bells on cat toys I don’t know but they have a lot to answer for! Together they make quite a pair; they certainly prefer each other’s company to ours (at least when it’s not feeding time). It’s amazing, when you think back to Twiggy’s old demeanour, quite how well they socialise.

It is most defiantly fair to say that Twiggy, while having had a difficult past, is a happy (if a little overweight) and is now, at least relatively, a well-adjusted cat.
