Looking for a challenge? Would you like to put your skills and experience to good use? We are now inviting applications to join our board of Trustees/Directors.
Our board members are responsible for the strategic leadership and governance of the Charity. This is a voluntary, unpaid role.
Currently, we hold monthly management meetings to discuss, for example; day to day issues, forward planning, governance and our financial management reports. In 2018 we will be establishing a Fundraising Subcommittee at which time management meetings will be held bimonthly with full board meetings on a quarterly basis. You can read more about our Charity, mission and aims in the Information Sheet and Articles of Association.
Management meetings are attended by a minimum of 2 Trustees with all Trustees expected to attend full board meetings.
The board and its members have a range of responsibilities and before applying you should first read the Charity Commission booklet – The Essential Trustee, to ensure you fully understand these and what it means to be a Trustee.

If you would like an initial informal discussion please e-mail Trustees@thesheffieldcatsshelter.org.uk and we will arrange this with you.
So, if you think you would enjoy using your skills to support our Charity and help many more cats and kittens in the future, we look forward to hearing from you. We appreciate the amount of time people are able to commit can vary and are still happy to receive applications from those with limited time available.
Should you require any support in completing your application or prefer information in an alternative format, please do contact us.
If you feel the Trustee/Director role isn’t for you, but you’d still like to get involved, there are so many other ways you can support us through volunteering or perhaps getting involved in our Fundraising Subcommittee.
Without constant fundraising, we wouldn’t be able to continue the work we do. In view of this, we’re in the process of drawing up Terms of Reference for our Fundraising Subcommittee. This will be a pro-active group overseeing our current fundraising initiatives and looking at new opportunities.
A Trustee/Director will be present at each meeting to take minutes and offer support, guidance and a link to our board and management team. Our intention is for willing members of the group to chair the meetings and support will be provided to facilitate this.
The bimonthly meetings will begin in February 2018 and it’s our intention to hold these in the evening.
So, if you have an active interest in fundraising, and our cause, please do get in touch to express an interest in being involved in the group. Whilst this is a voluntary, unpaid opportunity, there will be the potential to learn new skills and you will be making a valuable contribution to our Charity.
Please email email@example.com to register your interest.
