Teacake

Hello

We just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know how teacake has settled in.

When we got her home we cautiously thought we would leave her in one room in case she was feeling anxious about her new surroundings. Needless to say within 10 minutes she had fully explored every room of our house and then took up permanent residence on our bed!!!! She has in a very short space of time become very much part of our family - whichever one of us is home from work first gets subjected to a full on purring fest, and we are just learning to interpret her vocabulary of miaows. She also likes burrowing under the duvet with us and I woke up this morning with her wrapped round my head on the pillow!!!

Jonathan took her to the vets for an mot this week having booked her in using the line - teacake,as in toasted - as the receptionist couldn't quite get her head round her name!!! We thought about changing her name but didn't feel it was fair given how old she is - so we have abbreviated it to Teak, which saves us any further humiliation.

As we left in a bit of a hurry to get in the taxi, we just wanted to say a big thank you to grace, andrew and jean for making us feel so welcome.
