Mille-adopted December 2011

Dear sheffield cat shelter.
Hattie with the burnt tail (was Millie with the burnt tail)
When we came to the cat shelter a few weeks ago to collect our new cat, we were very nervous about choosing the right cat for our family.  We came along expecting to choose a small kitten, but Hattie was at the window when we first came to the door!  She practically threw herself at us!!! We were looking for a cat that would be happy playing with us, but also liked a lot of strokes and cuddles ! She is perfect for us and we had all fallen in love with her before leaving the shelter.
Hattie settled in extremely well and was exploring her new home as soon as she arrived from the cat shelter with us.  We had prepared our home carefully and we put a litter tray, food, water, bed and left a few toys lying around for her.  We had made her a cardboard box playhouse with cut out windows, which she jumped into straight away.  Her favourite toys are a mouse that squeaks and chasing balls.!  Sometimes we hear her playing with her ball whilst we are in bed!

We were all very anxious about choosing a new cat and you were all very gentle with us.  We think you really look after your cats and keep the place very clean.
Thank you so much for being so good to Hattie and us

Vince and Victor-adopted December 2011

Hello,

This is us in our new home.

 Vince and VictorVictor and Vince

We used to be called Vince (on the right) and Victor (on the left). Our new names are Toby (on the left) and Oscar (on the right). We are good kittens for our new owners but love to be naughty and up to mischief. We love to race around the furniture and have a nice long sleep on the chairs. We get lots of love and kisses from our new owners. We also give lots of licks back to them. Just to let you know we are fine and having a good life. Thank you

Acorn adopted December 2011

Hiya!
Acorn has changed his name to Peter and he is growing into a handsome young man. He is lovely. Very affectionate and despite 3 days of being dive bombed and growled at by Christopher our other cat who is 2 months older, he persevered and now they are like brothers. He's just had his tea and is licking his chops. He has a great appetite and is a little chatterbox. He loved the Christmas tree and he saw it has his job to remove the tinsel and baubles....

Twinkle adopted July 2008 and Princess (now Tilly) adopted November 2011

Hello,
Just to let you know how our lovely cats who were both adopted from you are getting on.  Twinkle is four now and has been an absolute delight.  We brought Tilly (Princess) home last month.  I was a little concerned how Twinkle would react but apart from a few hisses and growls, no major problems.  I think Tilly wants to play but Twinkles still a little unsure but Im sure given time things will be fine.  They often sit in the same room together, no problems.  Tilly hasn't yet worked out the cat flaps but its early days!  She has been out a few times using the door.  Tillys favourite pastime is eating!  She likes ham, quaver crisps and pinched my potted meat sandwich :) Both cats have lovely quiet temperaments apart from when they have their mad half hours of play and bounding around the house! :)  Twinkle sleeps in her igloo bed and Tilly likes to sleep with myself or my 11 year old daughter on our beds!  Both are beautiful cats both inside and out!  Tilly has been an extra comfort these past few weeks sleeping on my bed as Im not well with a slipped disc and often wake during the night!  She always accompanies me downstairs to make a cuppa during the early hours!

All in all I think Twinkle and Tilly are rather spoilt little girls!  Hope you enjoy seeing the pictures!  Its not always easy to get cats to sit still for pictures :)
Thank you for our two lovely girls

Toots-adopted November 2011

Hi there,

Toots has settled in brilliantly thank you. He absolutely adores his new big brother, follows him everywhere and plays with him as often as he can. He went under the wardrobe for the first night, but came out everytime our existing cat came in the room and it really helped him to become used to us. He now sleeps on the bed with us, comes to us for fuss and purrs his head off when being stroked. He is also gradually becoming better about being picked up as well.

We have changed his name to Salinger, after JD Salinger, the reclusive genius!

Thank you so much for finding him for us! We will send photos of him soon.

Simon-adopted November 2011

Hello to everyone at the shelter,

Simon is fantastic. He has settled in really quickly and is so loving and affectionate. He's also a bundle of fun and loves toys...such a pleasure to have with us. Holly our other cat was a bit wary at first but since then has been fine. He creeps into her basket sometimes and they sleep side by side. It doesn't seem to bother her and it's lovely to see.

With all our best wishes,
Danni and Chris
