Details about lost and found cats can be reported to the Shelter so that we can include them in our lost and found registers.
In order to ensure the quickest response, and so that we can ask any extra questions that might be important, please telephone 0114 272 4441 between 1:00 and 4:00pm any day. Do not email as this will incur delays and you will be asked to telephone with details at your earliest convenience.
Useful information
If phoning the Shelter, please have the following information to hand:
- Type and gender of cat / kitten
- Colour
- Name, age and size
- Whether the cat is neutered (if known)
- Details of any information which will help identify the cat/kitten eg microchip, any identifying marks, collar etc.
- Day, time and area last seen / found
Other actions
- Make a report to the RSPCA (0114 289 8050).
- Make a report to the Street Force section of the local council (0114 273 4567) as they may be able to help if the animal has been involved in a road traffic accident.
- Phone local veterinary centres.
- Ask neighbours to check in their sheds and garages.
- Distribute leaflets and posters around the area giving your contact details and asking people to check in their sheds and garages.
- Contact Petlog to report them lost if they are microchipped.
