Finn McCool (AKA Fred) - adopted October 2009

We have received this lovely update about one of our former residents, Fred...

I'm so pleased to tell you that Finn (formerly Fred, adopted October 2009) continues to stay well.  Apart from a couple of mild respiratory infections which have cleared quickly with antibiotics, the vet pronounces him fit and healthy.  Happily there has been no recurrence of his mouth problems.  He is a delightful placid cat who seems to thrive on the combination of attention and peace & quiet which my routine provides.
When I last wrote I told you that Finn was choosing an indoor lifestyle & enjoyed surveying his territory from the dining room window sill.  Well, that all changed with the arrival of spring when he decided to start defending his territory in person.  Most of the neighbouring cats have given in gracefully but there are regular stand offs with one brave cat who still keeps trying to use the garden as a thoroughfare.  Finn draws himself up to his full size and eyeballs the other cat which then slinks off!  Finn comes in looking very pleased with himself.   I'm attaching some photos of him on duty - not all equally active!  He still likes to do a lot of sleeping.
As you will remember Finn could be grumpy at times, so I was amazed when I heard from my neighbour that he has been popping in to visit - they seem to enjoy his visits as much as he obviously does and keep a special saucer for treating him to a cool drink of milk!
I'm so glad I adopted him,
With thanks & best wishes from Sandra
