Just an update on Dingle, who was an ex-feral grey SOS kitten we adopted in 2005 – November maybe?  I saw Jean on the stall on Fargate about a month back and told her that he was very ill and was being tested for FIP or FELV / FIV, and I would let you know how we got on.

 Well, unusually, there’s a happy ending!   Despite severe weight loss and many other classic signs of dry FIP (cloudy eyes etc) it turned out to be a mystery yet completely recoverable severe infection.  So Dingle is now back to his fighting fit self, and we are several hundred pounds poorer but wouldn’t change a thing!  He’s so very soppy, you wouldn’t recognise him as the same cat.  He would sleep on my pillow with me every night if I let him, but he’s so big now there’s no room so sleeps by my feet instead.  He’s quite happy sitting on your knee, and comes to find you every time he comes in the house.

So we’re over our little shock and hopefully have many more happy years to come!
