The Shelter is now open again for adoptions, with new opening hours which are 1:30pm-3pm everyday. You will still be able to contact the shelter over the phone from 1pm-4pm everyday for any enquiries.
December has been a very eventful month at the shelter despite being closed for half the month. The Shelter re-homed 24 cats/kittens from the 1st December to the 16th December before we closed over Christmas. This included the adoptions of Specs and Lotto who had been at the shelter since May 2011, we were delighted to see them re-homed at last.
The Shelter has also had a few more cats arrive from the funeral directors in Sheffield. Little Paige pictured below was brought to the shelter at the beginning of the month after being caught at the funeral directors looking very thin and anaemic.
She was dangerously under weight and was very lucky she was found in time. Paige is now like a different cat, she is full of energy and so much brighter. She has gained 600 grams in weight and her condition has improved immensely.
All year round we have had a great team of staff and volunteers working hard to keep the Shelter running. We would like to thank everyone who volunteers at the Shelter, giving their spare time to help care for the cats and support the charity. A special thank you goes out to all those people who came to help on Christmas day and new years day this year, your help was much appreciated.
