Natalie came to us with other cats, all living together in a home, but were not taken care of at all. When they arrived they were riddled in fleas, most had flea allergies/dermatitis, all were underweight, and poor Natalie had no fur on the lower half of her body. Natalie had also been pregnant, but unfortunately the kittens were all stillborn.
Natalie was literally bald from the ribcage down when she first arrived at the shelter. She was a very skinny minnie too, so we have been feeding her up and giving her the treatment needed for her skin condition, which seems to be improving. She has a lot of personality and loves to be the centre of attention. She can be a little wary of new people at first, but it doesn’t take her long to warm up to them. Natalie has been well enough recently to be spayed so she is looking for her forever home with no other pets. We think she could be okay with children, she was mostly kept indoors, but was let out on occasions so she should have the option of going outside if she would like to.
Natalie has a skin condition, which as of yet we aren’t 100% sure what has caused it. It may be due to her having such a bad infestation of fleas, it could have been related to stress in the previous home, it could be an allergy. This means that she will need to be monitored to make sure that her coat remains in good condition and keeps improving, and if her skin was to flare up again, she would need a vet visit, and may need steroids to treat it.
If you are interested in adopting Natalie, please visit the shelter on Wed and Fri 1:30pm - 3:00pm or Sat and Sun 1:00pm - 3:30pm
