Maya was brought to us by a member of the public when she was found outside in the cold on her own at only 4 weeks old.
She was very underweight, absolutely covered in fleas and had cat flu. Luckily, we had a brilliant fosterer who could take her on and nurse her through the flu. Due to her getting flu at such a young age before her immune system was fully built up, Maya has still got flu damage which means she will always be a snuffler and a bit snotty. She also has an allergy which makes her skin feel itchy, which she requires steroids for every now and again. This little darling has been through a lot, but she doesn’t let this stop her.
She is a very affectionate little kitty and loves to play, always on the go!
She gets on well with other cats and just loves us humans, she also loves to share, so if snotty kisses are your thing then she’s your girl!
As she does have some health issues that will need monitoring and may need fairly frequent trips to the vets, Maya will be a long term foster cat. This means that her new family will love her as their own, but the shelter will help cover vet costs.
Due to her health issues, Maya would need an experienced carer, who can monitor her closely and recognise any changes to her health and act upon this. Along with experience, Maya is looking for a home with lots of company and affection. She would be great with children and other cats and will keep you entertained for hours!
Maya is still currently on foster and will be rehomed from there so as not to stress her by bringing her back to the shelter. If you think you could give Maya a great home, please pop down to the shelter for a chat with the manager and arrangements for viewing will be made subject to the manager’s discretion.
If you are interested in adopting Maya, please visit the shelter on Wed and Fri 1:30pm - 3:00pm or Sat and Sun 1:00pm - 3:30pm
