We are continuing our 120-year anniversary by taking our exhibition to the Art House for two weeks from Friday 1st September 2017.
If you missed our Open Day, this is great opportunity to see our display which includes historical pictures and our anniversary posters which tell the story of our charity, the work we do today and feature some of our lovely cats.
The Art House is a new charity that opened to the public in August 2015. It supports the development of local artists from marginalised groups with a focus on working with people with mental health issues and individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Participation in the arts and creative opportunities improves health and wellbeing for people as they learn new skills, develop their creativity and meet up with other individuals with a similar interest.
But you don’t need to be an artist to get involved. As well as holding workshops, they have a delightful vegetarian café which prides itself in providing a warm welcome for all visitors. If you fancy lunch, the café offers daily specials, or you can just pop in for a pot of tea and a piece of cake.
The Art House is at
Sheffield, S1 4HJ
(Backfields runs from Division Street, opposite Carver Lane)
Opening Hours of the Café are
Monday to Saturday
11am – 3pm
We fully support the work that this wonderful charity does and are delighted to be able to showcase our work in such an altruistic environment.
So please go along and view our exhibition. You will be supporting local people as well as our lovely cats. If you want to know about the art House, visit their website.
