Short Term Fosterers Wanted!

The Sheffield Cats Shelter is on the look out for more Short Term Fosterers who can help us when we start to see vulnerable mum cats giving birth.
It takes a very special kind of person to become a Short Term Fosterer. They must love cats, of course! But they will also need to have experience with kittens, specifically with bottle feeding and weaning the little ones. They need a separate room in their home for the mums and kittens to have to themselves, and must be able to drive in order to take the kitties to Highfield for their vets visits.

They need to also either own their own home or have permission from a Landlord that states that cats are allowed in the property. Short Term Foster cats don’t have to be the only cats in the household, but if there are other cats around, we will need to see proof that they are up to date with their vaccinations, and they must be able to give mum and babies their own space.

Short Term Fosterers keep their foster kittens until they are old enough to be neutered, and then the kittens come back to The Sheffield Cats Shelter to find their forever homes! Giving young vulnerable kittens the around the clock care that they need goes so far to give them a second chance in life, and we are so grateful for their help. If you can provide all of these, then we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in becoming a Short Term Fosterer for us, please fill out our The Sheffield Cats Shelter Short Term Foster Questionnaire and e-mail it to info@thesheffieldcatsshelter.org.uk – you can also ask any questions you may have through this e-mail. We will also need to do a home visit should your questionnaire show that you are suitable.

Thank you!
